National Training Project
Following the last day of Mavericks & Misfits the Seniors are heading straight up to Albury for a week or two of intensive training with amazing coaches at the Flying Fruit Fly circus. Living and breathing Circus! The kids have really excelled in skill development this year and this opportunity provided by Regional Arts Victoria will celebrate this skill development, make important technique corrections and extend them with new skills which will inspire their training for months ahead. Mara will be with them soaking up every ounce of coaching inspiration to bring back to weekly classes. We are aiming to put all this incredible skill development into performances for Words in Winter and the LiveLoveLife festival in the second half of the year. Already we have initiated show development with director Ruby Rowat- fruitful busy times ahead for everyone!
Mavericks & Misfits!
Senior Spring Kids are working in collaboration with Jen’s Daylesford youth drama kids, Kirsten’s youth drama kids and Jo’s youth dance for Mavericks & Misfits. The project has been amazing to get kids creating together, coming a long way from original stimulus ideas to produce a rich master piece. The performance is insightful, humorous and vibrant. Our kids are providing some shibang! with table top unicycle skipping, graceful acro-dance, lifts and falls, tumbling and aerial, slapstick and story telling.

Holiday time gives us the opportunity to use our venue during usual school times and offer much more specialist variety including—–
Mini-Tumbling for 3-5yr olds! Yes, this is a chance for mini people to spend some time upsidedown!
Prepare for the upcoming Hepburn Swiss Italian Festa parade with Stilts and Unicycling (who’s up for a game of unicycle hockey?), and summer parties with Poi.
Also, I’m looking forward to some extra special focus time for handstands, aerial and acrobalance. These will suit anyone who is practicing core strength in their own yoga or crossfit training, gymnasts who want some extra challenge and of course our Sprung Kids for some quality time.
Some particularly exciting features for older kids and adults these holidays are Tuesday: 9-10am Handstands & handstand balances; 2-2.30 Acrobatics & Tumbling Wednesday: 10-11am Acrobalance, swings and tosses; 1.30-2.30 Stilts & Unicycles; 2.45-3.45 Tissu with Ella, & Static Trapeze; 5.45-6.45 dance Poi with Joel.
And the giant obstacle course, parkour course and games sessions will be great fun for kids who love moving and stretching imaginations!
